From Thor, to Superman, and the X-men – as well as one of his real-world heroes, Charlie Parker, this t-shirt celebrates what inspired Basquiat across his many passion points.
The back features the phrase “MOST YOUNG KINGS GET THEIR HEADS CUT OFF” (with the word young crossed out), which inspired rapper Jay-Z's song "Most Kingz." Finished with a crew neck, short sleeves and King Pleasure© logo tab on the left sleeve, this soft, 100% cotton t-shirt is an instant classic.

About the artwork:
Charles the First was painted by Jean-Michel in 1982, a breakout year in his storied career. The painting pays homage to jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker, whose nickname was "Bird," a leading figure in the development of bebop. The painting also features a crown, an iconic element found in much of Basquiat’s work symbolizing the struggle for power and recognition, particularly for marginalized communities. On the bottom left of the canvas, Jean-Michel wrote: "MOST YOUNG KINGS GET THEIR HEADS CUT OFF," with the word "young" crossed out, a phrase that went on to inspire rapper Jay-Z's song "Most Kingz."
